vir·tu·o·sic : adjective of:
vir·tu·o·so : a person who has great skill at some endeavor <a computer virtuoso> <a virtuoso at public relations>

The above is a fringe definition of virtuoso from Merriam Websters Dictionary. My vision for this blog is to eventually be a catalyst for me and others to become a vir·tu·o·so in their chosen field. I strongly believe, area-wise skill aside, a strong interest in personal development is one of the stepping stones to become a vir·tu·o·so. Hence, I intend this blog to contain some entries that might help me and others in personal development.

The reality check:
I’m a software engineer, an aspiring reader and an amateur in self-development. I’ve lived and worked in San Diego, California for about 9 years after graduation. Now I’m in Hyderabad, India, living with my lovely wife since 2006.
I’m not a writer; at least, not yet. I don’t have any blogs or books to my credit yet. However, it’s not going to stop me from writing. After all, to get proficient at something, you’ve to do it!
The world of blogs is already filled with so many blogs that are about productivity and self-development. So, why did I create this? Firstly, this is not a ‘productivity’ blog; not yet! It is primarily a personal blog which will contain entries about productivity and self-development. I already read very good blogs on these areas which you’ll find in the links section in the sidebar. What you will find here will be my interpretations and experiences

Books:
I collect a lot of books. However don’t make the mistake of assuming I read them all. Some of them have been collecting dust for years. Some more have never seen the light of the day.
I have begun the process of reading over the past few months but have left half-read books lying around in the house. Fed up, I’ve decided to take one or two books at a time. You can find my current readings in the sidebar.

My Book Club:
I've started a book club. It's a simple concept where like-minded friends, who treat books like I do, get together and form a pool of books that they're willing to share within the club. I've a web based system with e-mail reminders that help in keeping track of borrowed books. It's here. Membership is limited to friends.

My Art:
Although not a very consistent artist, I've dabbled in art since 1997. The result can be seen in the gallery. I wish to restart the art streak in me!
